Jim Wappes
Mr. Wappes, CIDRAP editorial director, has more than 20 years' experience as a manager, Web-content publisher, and medical editor and writer. Before coming to CIDRAP in 2006, he worked for the McGraw-Hill Companies for 15 years in many capacities, the last 5 years as executive editor of The Physician and Sportsmedicine, a peer-reviewed primary care journal with a circulation of 110,000. He has also written and edited for Postgraduate Medicine, Healthcare Informatics, multiple custom publications, and Minnesota Medicine, the journal of the Minnesota Medical Association.
His interests lie in emerging infectious diseases, avian flu and pandemic preparedness, evidence-based medicine, disease prevention, quirky humor, and word economy.
